Resident Invitations
How invitations work, what to do when they don't arrive, and how to resend them.
How invitations work
When you invite a resident from Setup → Residents, Zorex sends them an email with a unique activation link. The resident clicks the link, creates a password, and their account is connected to their unit automatically.
Once activated, the resident can log in to the resident portal to pay invoices, submit service requests, view announcements, and download documents.
Invitation expiry
Invitation links are valid for 72 hours from the time they are sent. After that, the link expires and cannot be used.
If a resident tries to use an expired link, they will see an error message. Simply resend the invitation from Setup → Residents to generate a new link.
Resending an invitation
- Go to Setup → Residents in the admin portal.
- Find the resident (you can search by name or email).
- Click the resident row to open their profile.
- Click Resend Invitation. A new email will be sent immediately with a fresh 72-hour link.
If the invitation email does not arrive
Ask the resident to check the following locations before resending:
If the email is still not found after checking all folders, resend the invitation. Make sure the email address on file is correct before resending.
Inviting a resident to multiple units
If a resident owns or occupies more than one unit, send a separate invitation for each unit. Each invitation links to a specific unit in the system. The resident will use the same email and password to access both units after accepting both invitations.
What if the resident never activates?
Residents do not need to activate their account for you to manage your HOA. You can still create and send invoices, post announcements, and manage service requests for units with pending invitations.
If a resident has not accepted after several days, try resending the invitation and confirm you have the correct email address. Some residents may need a personal reminder that the email was sent.
